Company Statement

The Barn at Silver Oaks Estate strives to maintain its status as one of New England’s best wedding and event venues.

Our family-owned and -operated company is dedicated to success.
Whilst other businesses may assess their performance in terms of quarters, we measure ours in terms of generations.

We at Silver Oaks adhere to the following guiding principles:

Be of great moral standing and uprightness
Be honest, fair, and consistent with everyone at all times.
Obey without exception all Federal, state, and local laws, statutes, and ordinances
Give local vendors preferential access to servicing our events.
Employ regional service providers, contractors, and specialists for our organization’s needs.
Donate to local Schools, Churches, and Charity to give back to our community.
The Barn at Silver Oaks is committed to excellence in all endeavors.

We are not only someone’s backyard with a rental area, but a professional and devoted event facility.

Weddings & Parties are our specialty! We have the expertise and experience to produce spectacular and unforgettable events.

We take our recommended vendor list extremely seriously. We will not do business with unethical or inexperienced companies. We scrutinize all of our vendors with painstaking precision. Ultimately, these suppliers will represent Silver Oaks, thus who we refer to you is of the utmost significance to us as well.

We are pleased to have such a beneficial influence on the local economy. (In this way, we make a difference)
Our activities have resulted in a significant boost in foot traffic to hotels, restaurants, and stores in the region.
Local suppliers such as photographers, caterers, florists, musicians, rental firms, bartenders, disc jockeys, wedding planners, and bakers have prospered as a result of event contracts.
We attempt to have a minimal influence on our area.
Silver Oaks conforms closely to all local noise and fireworks regulations.
Our security staff protects the safety of each and every guest.
Parking attendants guarantee that “on road” and “off property” parking are avoided.
State and local statutes and ordinances impose licensing and insurance requirements on vendors.
We care for our environment.
We have planted hundreds of plants and bushes to provide food and habitat for pollinators such as birds, bats, bees, butterflies, beetles, and other tiny mammals that pollinate plants. These pollinators are responsible for one out of every three bites of food that we consume.
In an effort to purify the air and water, we have planted dozens of mature, native, hardwood trees. What was once an abandoned, untidy lot is now a diverse sanctuary for both humans and animals.
Although the property is usually utilized 1-2 times per week and only during the seasonal months, the impact on the property is likewise rather small.
We have converted our entire facility to LED lighting, both inside and out, to lower our already modest carbon footprint.
Our wastewater, including greywater from sinks and black water from restrooms, is collected in 2 commercial septic tanks and pumped regularly to prevent leaching into our groundwater and lake water.
Safety is a top priority for all of our employees and visitors.
Designated Disabled parking is accessible for those who require it.
There are accessible restrooms on the premises.
Those requiring more assistance are given a six-person golf cart with a designated driver.
The Barn at Silver Oaks Estate is the only barn wedding venue in Maine with a certified, professionally installed fire suppression system (sprinklers), as mandated by the Maine State Fire Marshal. As required by law, this system is examined and certified on a quarterly basis.
